Description Doctor's bag used by Dr. Perry Clayton in the 1920s and 1930s. This bag carried much of the equipment and medicine used by Dr. Clayton during his housecalls to families in the Pastville community. The bag is black cowhide leather with a metal clasp at the top. When clasp is open, the top of the bag opens out to display a leather lined interior with pockets around the edges to store medical supplies. Wear is apparent on the seams of the bag as well as the hinges of the leather handle.
